Mike Sanders Musician

Mike Sanders is a solo guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in the Northern Rivers.

Creating out of his home studio utilising a collection of eclectic analog gear hoarded over the years, his music blends jazzy 60s surf guitar with funk, dub and soul, producing his own sound that captures the essence of worldly influences. Inspired by and fully immersed in surf culture, Mike’s spring reverb and wavey tremolo drenched guitar sound evokes the perfect mix of the sands, the salt, and the seas in sonic form.

With a strong focus on surf soundtracks and creative collaborations, Mike has composed soundtracks for films like “Amano Surf” and “Chupa” released by Nobody Surf, as well as various projects with brands. Mike’s played live events such as Byron Bay Surf Festival, Snake in the Grass festival, Byron Film Festival, various art exhibitions (Marty Baptist, Ozzie Wright, Otis Carey, Paul McNeil, Mackie Walker, McTavish Surf etc.), as well as a mix of venues up and down the East Coast. Live, Mike merges reverby old school guitar tones with layers of percussive rhythms, crafting an immersive sound that transports listeners.
