Wayne Sorensen is a Gold Coast based landscape and wildlife photographer whose work captures the untamed beauty of the natural world.
His search for unique images has taken him to the far corners of the globe, often in some of the harshest and most challenging environments imaginable. As well as spending countless hours photography the Gold Coast coastline, his photographic journeys include multiple expeditions to Antarctica, the Subantarctic Islands, Siberia and Africa, among others.
Classically trained as a fine artist, he approaches each scene with a painter’s sensibility, shaping light, texture and composition to draw the viewer into the world as he sees it. From land to ocean, and high above in the sky, Wayne seeks encounters that are both fleeting and timeless.
Recognised internationally, his work has received awards and commendations from institutions including Australian Geographic and the Natural History Museum of London, affirming his place among today’s leading contemporary fine art nature photographers.
