Blake Johnston is a world-record-holding endurance surfer, elite coach, and passionate mental health advocate from Cronulla.
With over 21 years as Director of the Cronulla Surfing Academy, Blake has dedicated his life to helping people of all ages build confidence in the ocean while developing resilience, connection, and a love for surfing.
Blake holds three world records, including the World Record for the longest continuous surf — an incredible 40-hour effort where he rode 707 waves. He also led the world’s biggest paddle out, bringing together 1,027 people in a powerful show of unity and community, and pushed the limits again with his Winter Warrior challenge, surfing over 4,000 waves in a single month. Each of these achievements has been driven by a deeper purpose — to raise awareness for mental health and inspire meaningful conversations.
He is the author of Swellbeing, a book that shares his personal journey alongside practical tools to help people not only survive life’s challenges, but thrive. Through his SWELLBEING programs, workshops, and retreats, Blake empowers individuals and communities with simple, actionable strategies centred around movement, nature, and connection.
Blake lives by the belief that “everyone deserves to feel awesome.”
