Rambo Estrada is a surf adventure photographer based in New Zealand.
Although Mt Maunganui is his home, Rambo feels most alive when on the road. He spends the majority of his time on solo trips, living in his Land Rover seeking out the untouched remote coastlines of Aotearoa. Rambo is obsessed with finding isolated empty waves, aiming to infuse the raw beauty and tranquility of his homeland into every surf image he creates. Rambo also enjoys documenting the unique and often overlooked aspects of rural New Zealand life. Finding inspiration from the quirky offbeat charm you’ll only stumble across on the forgotten back roads.
Rambo is a self-taught photographer, but being a total math geek what originally attracted Rambo to photography was a fascination with the exposure triangle! He still digs the technical side of photography and gets a kick out of shooting every photo with the most efficient and economical settings aiming for each shot to be technically perfect. Rambo is very open with his photography knowledge and for him, the joy lies not only in capturing extraordinary moments but also in empowering others to embark on their own photographic journeys.
