Simon Saffigna.....
Simon Saffigna (Shagga, as he is more commonly known by his peers) is a local Gold Coast film producer. Shagga grew up in Coolangatta with Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson and Dean Morrison whom the world now respects as the surfers who defined their generation. Shagga’s film, “3 degrees” which was based around ‘the Cooly kids’ (Mick, Joel and Dean) on their first year on the professional surfing tour earned him a credible reputation and resulted in a number of international film awards at the age of 21. Shagga has gone on to produce more than 10 films, a TV series and has won more than 10 Surfer Poll awards for his cinematography work.
