Flotsam: Homegrown Surf Clip Comp Finalists +  Gold Coast Premiere Film Screening: Jay Phillips Isn’t Dead and Darcy Ward’s Cosmic Shift

Join us for the final night of Flotsam Festival with a night filled with homegrown local stories.

The top ten finalists of the Flotsam surf clip comp will get their day in the sun (or under the moon) atop Kirra Hill when we announce the winner of Flotsam’s first ever surf clip showdown.

The winner score prizes and loot, but also some fame – the chance to air on Fuel TV’s network of loyal action sports fans, AND be interviewed by Surfing Life magazine TV.

The major prize? Jetting out from Coolangatta on their next filming mission with 2x return ScootPlus tickets valued at $3000 AUD!

Runner Up scores $1500 cash + prizes thanks to the legends at Sobah. Meanwhile, Best Up and Comer gets $1000 cash and a $500 holiday voucher from our friends at RBR Holidays. To enter, click here

Then it’s time for the grand finale:  a local story filmed about one of the area’s lesser known surfing greats – Jay Phillips. Current family man, professional surfer, coach, and president of Snapper Boardriders, Jay walked a rocky road that almost led him to the top – but Jay Phillips Isn’t Dead tells the story of how talent doesn’t always equal success – at least, not the commonly held perception of it. This is the story of when life has other plans.

Flotsam: Homegrown is proud to support emerging film makers showcasing local talent and telling authentic local stories.

Major Sponsor: Scoot Airlines.

Supported by Surfing Life and Fuel TV.

Special thanks to the legends at RBR Holidays and Sobah.
