Flotsam Next Wave Youth Showcase

The future’s looking boldly bright and glistening with talent.

Across the festival program, look for the Flotsam Next Wave tag to discover youth-powered inclusions from the region’s best young ocean-inspired creatives across film, photography and music.

Supported by Community Bank Tugun, Flotsam Next Wave is a platform to feature the work of up-and-coming filmmakers and photographers on the big screen, and live performances by the region’s best young musicians.

This is not a single event, rather a series of programming across multiple Flotsam happenings — look for the Next Wave tag on events across the festival.

MUSIC

The GC’s best up-and-coming musicians from leading regional programs including Youth Music Venture alumni and PBC High Arts Excellence emerging artists playing surf-inspired sounds.

FILM + PHOTO

Catch finalists from the youth divisions of our Homegrown film and photo competitions, alongside selected short films from emerging artists.

WORKSHOPS

Flotsam community showcases will also include interactive art and photography activities, including creative workshops and a fun photo booth.
