Richard Harvey: Spirit of Adventure

Revered surfboard shaper, artist and photographer Richard Harvey takes us on an Indonesian Odyssey to Bali in the golden era of ’74 – ’75

Well-traveled Australian surfer and boardmaker from Queensland’s Gold Coast and winner of the 1973 Australian National Titles, Harvey visited Bali to surf, but his artistic lens captured more than just waves — he returned with images of adventure, and inspired to create art.

Spirit of Adventure – Indonesian Odyssey 74 – 75 explores a snapshot in time through Harvey’s photos of an untouched Bali, his batik-style paintings, his coffee table photo books, and, of course, boards.
