Surfrider Foundation Australia and Flotsam Surf Film and Photography Festival present the Found Objects Photo Contest.

Found Objects is an opportunity for people to share items that they have found [and cleaned-up!] off of their local beach or waterway, arranged in a creative and artistic way. Contestants are encouraged to share a story about the photograph, which can include activities, memories or a few words about what you (and your community) are doing to protect that beach.

To submit an entry, post the photo to your Instagram account, write your caption, and then tag @flotsam.festival and @surfrideraus and use the hashtag #SurfriderFound to enter the contest.

Surfrider will feature top entries on our social feed, and the winners will be announced on 11 May at Kirra Hill Community Centre on the Gold Coast, at Flotsam Festival’s Homegrown event.

Local entries will also have the opportunity to showcase their artwork at the Festival if they like, too! Follow @surfridergc_branch to get updates.

Want some inspiration?

Join the Surfrider Foundation Australia for a beach cleanup and youth workshop on 4 May at Palm Beach Parklands, where youth may create artwork from recycled materials.  Checkout the Flotsam Festival Next Wave event page for more information, and follow @surfridergc_branch for updates.

Want to do more?

Join a local Surfrider beach cleanup, and help tackle ocean pollution. We are all part of the solution and together we can restore our coastlines, one beach at a time.
