This ode to the road will see Iron & Resin’s gallery and fenceline adorned with photo essays, projection, and film loops. Don’t miss launch night when the space comes alive with the sounds of Australian filmmaker, musician and writer Andrew Kidman, and his seminal film Litmus performed with a live score — and more.

Australian Lustre:

Australian Lustre is a photobook of road trip photographs from around Australia. For over 15 years Trent Mitchell has gathered photos from across Australia to compile a 320 page book set to be released in November 2024.

Artist:

Gold Coast photographer Trent Mitchell, who has been making photographs for more than 20 years, started his photography career in 2007.
Working across digital and film, in both black and white and colour, Trent has received wide recognition internationally. He won the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize in 2015, and has been a finalist for the award over a number of years. He has also been featured in, among others, the International Photography Awards, Sony World Photography Awards, Head On and Australian Life Photographic Prize. His work has been acquired for many public and private collections, including the National Library of Australia.
